Summer doesn’t just arrive to the North Olympic Peninsula, it explodes. Last week I wore hat and gloves to take the dog for a walk and this weekend it was warm enough for Zach to swim by 7 o’clock in the morning. Summers here are just spectacular, and we spent as much time outside this weekend as we could.
8am and 39 weeks pregnant, great way to start the weekend!
My friend Carrie invited us to Olympic Park Institute yesterday for a community picnic. OPI is on Lake Crescent, just a short walk from where Joe and I were married in 2004. We didn’t know very many people in Port Angeles at that time, which was a huge contrast to yesterday’s picnic. We have met so many wonderful families and people in this area and it felt like everyone we know was there. Even, (how convenient!) our family doc who will deliver the baby in a few days (hint, hint, Arlo). We feel so lucky to be making this wonderful place our home.
My boys and blueberry cobbler, well Z only ate the whipped cream…

You look so happy and relaxed in that first picture!
I’m so glad you had fun at OPI! And, that you got some pictures. I was so busy that I didn’t get any. What a beautiful couple of days.
Are you coming into town for the weekly playdate tomorrow? I don’t know this week’s host very well, we could crash together?!

I snuck over from Fran’s site. I did not realize that you too had a blog. I was reading her site when you two got married . Fran and I have never met even though she frequently gets within a stones throw of me. I live right across the water from Pt. Townsend right above the Keystone Ferry Landing.
Summer was really late getting here wasn’t it. I think we saw it this weekend. It is really cold now. Had to close my doors. I get the wind right off the Strait.!

Laura, I’m glad that summer has come to Pt. Angeles and that you enjoyed the weekend. Those pictures are precious, as always, but I was particularly touched by your boys each eating side by side. Thinking of you and hoping Arlo decides to make his entrance soon.
