Arlo Anthony arrived at 10:42pm on July 1st. He was 8lbs 1oz and 21 inches long. And so far just a beautiful and sweet baby.
I won’t bore everyone with the delivery details but there are a few things I want to remember. I had worked all day the day he was born and when I got home I was soooo tired. I laid down on the couch and rubbed my belly and told him “Ok Buddy, it’s time now”. Anyway he must have listened! A few hours later I had a craving for a huge bowl of ice cream and as soon as I put my dish away I felt a pop and my water broke. Joe was out walking the dog and I met him at the door with bags packed. We made a mad dash to the hospital and Arlo was born about two hours later.
We’ve been home two days now and it is a mixture of bliss and chaos. Zach is doing great at times, and other times says things like “me want my mommy back”. It will be so hard to find the right balance in all of this but I hope I can.
We had our first family outing last night. It is very convenient to have a baby around the fourth of July- there are all sort of gatherings to scavenge dinner from! It took a while to get out the door- (first Arlo peed all over his super cute outfit and then Zach pooped) but it was so fun to be out. I think people were a little surprised to see us out already but I have been so cooped up I am really motivated to be out and enjoy my friends and the summer. I was pretty sore and tired by the time we got home but we had so much fun.
I’ve really enjoyed this blog and I hope I can keep things up. My goal is at least one post a week but they can be brief. Anyone who has ever tried to type and nurse at the same time knows why I’m allowed short entries!
I also want to say thank you to all of our friends and family who helped get us through the last few months. I just take one look at Arlo and I know everything was worth it. Thank you everyone.
