I have NEVER locked my keys in the car… until this morning when I locked both kids in the car… with some help from Mr. Cool here

I was at the park visitor center with a parking lot full of people walking by, who I am sure were very amused by me talking to Zachary through the window and trying to get him to unlock the door.  Luckily (or unluckily since that is how the keys got locked in the car) he wasn’t in his carseat and finally crawled into the front seat and pressed the lock button and unlocked the car.

Mental note: attach keys to body at all times.

of a sleep deprived mother of two…

Numbers I saw on my alarm clock in the middle of the night last night- 1:03, 2:37, 3:05, 4:46, 5:55

Announcement made by Zachary in the middle of a large business meeting today: “My Momma push dat baby out her tummy”.  Next time, maybe I’ll leave the kids at home.

Best reason for a bath: Toddler accidently gets into diaper cream and smears it on his face and then rolls in his sandpile.  Picture gooey sand mustouched toddler.

Second best reason for bath: Aforementioned toddler (left alone too long while mom was nursing baby, please know mommy learned a good lesson!) spilled entire bottle of shampoo in tub, turning tub into giant slip’n’slide and rescue operation similar to catching a greased pig.

Things I do not want to find on my bed: My son, hand feeding the dog her food after carrying her bowl upstairs…

I think I’ll go get some sleep now.  At least until 12:35am, if I’m lucky.

I guess Zach likes Arlo after all!  Usually when I drop off Zach at his babysitter, the baby stays in the car sleeping.  But today, the baby was wide awake and hungry so I decided to take both kids in and sit and feed the baby for a little bit before I left.  (As I write this, I’m wondering how I ever could have thought that might work!) Anyway, chaos ensued.  All the other kids wanted to see the baby, and Zach flipped.  He threw himself on the carseat and over the baby and started screaming “No touch dat!  Dat not yours!  Dat my baby!” and then started pushing the kids away and almost bit one of them.  (Ok, why didn’t I leave at this point?) My boobs are leaking and the baby is screaming so I continue with the plan and sit down to nurse the baby.  All the kids gather around and Zach totally couldn’t take it.  He pushed them all away and stood guard over his baby and my boobs.  In another month, I’ll be leaving both kids at the babysitter… hopefully Zach will have chilled out by then or my poor babysitter is going to have her hands full!
